Session Notes

This is another odd-meter songs that I really enjoy singing due to the lope.  And I always particularly enjoyed the unbridled optimism of this song.

This song, like the album, was recorded in stages, the majority of it in the early 1990s but with various overdubs around 2000-2002.  The horn charts were written by Stephen Barber.  In re-reading the credits I see the amazing Judd Miller played both the tuba and piccolo trumpet parts on his EVI.  (I believe I first met Judd working on this song, and we wound up working together many times since then up to the present.)  During the later overdubbing phase, Heitor Teixeira-Pereira came over one day and overdubbed electric guitar, playing it both conventionally and unconventionally with large pencil erasers…another really creative guy!
